These photos are of a very rare 1954 G. Fox & Company metro van. Initially, I featured an original van (top photo) that sold on eBay in October 2005 for $2325. Then in December 2005, another original van, in excellent plus condition, was bid to $6899 and still failed to meet the reserve. I grabbed a few photos for our enjoyment before they disappeared. 50 years ago, this metro van probably sold for $2 to $3. Is finding an old Tonka like this sort of like finding a Shelby Cobra under a tarp in an old barn?
Value: A G. Fox metro van in complete, original, unretouched, good condition, no obvious dings and dents, numerous paint scrapes allowing for oxidation (surface rust), decals very good, sold on eBay for $1026 USD late April 2008.
