If you are an adoptee, birth parent, adopted parent or someone touched by adoption through a friend or loved one, chances are excellent that you understand the anguish caused by the prevailing legislative attitude toward adoptees, their second class citizen status and their efforts to bring about change. If so, you can wear a green ribbon on your lapel to show your support for adoption reform in the United States. If not, please read on and learn how you can support this disenfranchised class of Americans to achieve full suffrage.
Mickey Sharon Walker started the PLAQUE OF LOVE crusade in November, 1999 to honor and remember triad members who died because of lack of medical history should be remembered. She suggested that those wishing to join her in this memorial effort wear a green ribbon idea came up because I felt we needed something visible and tangible to remind us of our goals:
* to show support for opening adoption records,
* to support those who are searching.
